Forklift and Mining Spares was started 30 years ago by Mr. Dup Du Plessis and was then fondly known as Du Plessis Forklifts / Du Plessis Projects. Du Plessis Forklifts operated from 1101 Van Der Hoff Road Hercules, Pretoria West under the management of Mr. Dup and son Nico Du Plessis. Du Plessis Forklifts was one of the first private owned forklift company in Pretoria to have imported their own forklifts namely BMC. Mr Dup retired in 2002 and handed the reins of the company to Nico Du Plessis.
Du Plessis Forklifts grew rapidly with the unit sales, rentals, new spares, used spares and repairs. Initiating the move in 2013 to the present premises which is Plot 300 Van der Hoff Road, Zandfontein Pretoria West. Nico started a new venture into the mining sector in 2016 hence the name changed to, “Forklift and Mining Spares.”
Forklift and Mining Spares utilizes their 4 hectors of land by stocking of Mining Equipment and old forklift models ranging from 50 years old to the present models. FMS is one of Africa’s largest forklift breakers that services Southern Africa with new and used forklift spares.
A combined forklift experience of 70 years in the industry allows FMS to provide expert services to the industry such as, new and used spares, forklift sales, new and refurbished units, forklift rentals, repairs and maintenance.
